The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Save the Children has called for urgent humanitarian assistance for more than 650,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Baidoa.
CEO Inger Ashing called upon the international community to intervene fast to help the close to three-quarter of a million IDPs in Baidoa.
She added that the needs of the IDPs are immense and beyond the capacity of Somalia or the local authorities.
“The IDPs we see in Baidoa are mostly in that situation because of violent conflicts and the effects of climate change,” said the Save the Children CEO.
