Second Day of FGS-FMS Electoral Talks Kick off in Mogadishu

The electoral talks between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) resume on April 4.

Sunday is the second day of the talks designed to find solutions to the months-long electoral crisis in the East African nation.

On Saturday, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble led the government side in the talks.

Omar Filish, the Mayor of Mogadishu, joined them in the talks in his capacity as the Governor of Banadir Regional Authority (BRA).

Others at the first day of the talks included President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland and President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland.

HirShabelle’s President Ali Guudlaawe, Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Laftagareen, and Galmudug’s President Ahmed Karie Qoorqoor also attended the talks.

Nevertheless, reports from the venue of the talks indicate that not much headway was made.
