A Puntland state minister has died from COVID-19, local authorities announced on Saturday August 15.
According to authorities, Mohamed Hassan Isse, a state minister in the Office of the President died at Garowe Hospital.
A few days ago, Isse had been admitted at the hospital with breathing problems.
Despite the best efforts of the medical team treating him, Isse was unable to recover. Consequently, he passed away earlier today.
Isse is the second state minister from the Puntland administration of President Said Abdullahi Deni to lose his life to the COVID-19 pandemic.
