Security agents reportedly fired live bullets at opposition protestors in Mogadishu on Thursday, December 17.
The incident took place in Haantadheer, which is not far from the Ex-Control area.
According to witnesses, the officers took this decision to disperse protestors who were gathering in the region to kick off today’s demonstrations.
Meanwhile, security officers sealed off and barricaded major roads around the capital city to prevent gatherings.
Protestors started their demonstrations on Tuesday, December 15.
Members of the Council of Presidential Candidates have already spoken out against the brutal response to the protests by government forces.
