Security Forces in Puntland Foil a Terror Attack

Security forces in Somalia’s semiautonomous region of Puntland foiled a possible terror attack on December 23.

Reports from the region indicate that the forces foiled an imminent attack in the northern state.

Terrorists had planned to rock Bossaso with a massive terror attack on Wednesday.

According to multiple sources, the attack targeted security officers and innocent civilians in the region.

The attempt was the latest by the extremists to create havoc in the East African nation, which is currently preparing for elections in December 2020 and February 2021.

Hussein Mohamud, the Chief of the Bari Regional Police Force, confirmed the development while hailing the contribution of local residents.

Mohamud said that the security forces would not have succeeded in their mission without the direct involvement of local residents.
