Security forces from the Somali National Army (SNA) and African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have injured three people in Beledweyne today.
Reports from central Somalia indicate that the forces injured the three people who were taking part in a peaceful protest on Sunday, December 27.
The protests were organized to agitate for the unconditional release of more than 50 people arrested in the region during recent security operations.
According to reports, the incident takes place at a time when Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security is in the region on an official visit.
