Security Tightened in Somali Schools as National Exams Start

Security has been tightened in all schools in Somalia at the start of the Grade 12 national exams.

Over 2,000 police officers were deployed to 803 schools around the country as the national exams kicked off on Saturday.

Students in 36 districts will sit for the exams.

They are registered in 139 centers.

The government is working closely with local authorities to ensure that the exams proceed in a safe and secure environment for all.
