Security will be beefed up in the Benadir region during the holy month of Ramadan.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre said this when he held discussions with top security officers at his Mogadishu office on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said that the government would intensify patrols in the region.
He added that other measures would also be put in place to secure the region.
Some of these measures include increased surveillance and enhanced gathering of intelligence by security officers.
