Senator Abdiqani Gelle has been elected the Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee preparing for presidential elections.
Both chambers of the federal parliament held a joint session this week.
Members announced the formation of a joint committee to prepare for the presidential elections.
On Thursday, May 5, the joint committee appointed Senator Gelle its Chairman.
Consequently, he will now lead his colleagues in preparing the federal parliament for the presidential polls, which are expected to take place in the next few days.
