A senior member of the Al-Shabaab militia group has surrendered to the Somali National Army (SNA).
Reports from the East African nation indicate that Hussein Abdillahi Siyad surrendered to the military on Monday.
A statement from the Ministry of Defence confirmed Siyad’s surrender.
The statement specifically added that Siyad surrendered to the government troops in Guriceel, a town in the regional state of Galmudug.
