A senior Somali Police Force (SPF) officer escaped a bomb attack in Mogadishu on January 5, 2021.
Sadik Aden, a spokesperson with the SPF, escaped an attempt on his life on Tuesday night.
Reports indicate that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) hit his car in Mogadishu at around 8.55pm local time.
This latest incident has cast a shadow of doubt on the safety of security officers.
Consequently, the incident casts aspersions on the ability of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to protect its officers and the public at large.
Somalia is scheduled to hold parliamentary and elections in January and February 2021 respectively.
