Senior officials from the United Nations in Somalia have visited the regional state of Southwest for discussions on the ongoing drought.
President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of Southwest received and welcomed the UN officials to the region.
They arrived in Baidoa on July 27.
Southwest has some of the worst-hit families and individuals by the ongoing drought, which could lead to starvation and famine.
President Laftagareen and the UN officials discussed the ongoing drought and the interventions needed to prevent the current humanitarian crisis from worsening.
