Johann Siffointe, UNHCR Somalia Representative, visited Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Wabishabele Settlement, Belet Weyne.
He was in the company of Ambassador Mohamed Affey, the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa. During their visit, the officials met with families that floods affected late last year.
While in the region, the UNHCR officials also met with Mohamed Abdi Ware, the President of Hirshabelle.
Ugas Hassan Khalif Roble attended the meeting too where the issue of displaced Somalis was discussed at length.
Belet Weyne was one of the worst hit places by last year’s floods.
