Seven Civilians Killed in an IED Explosion in Southern Somalia

Seven civilians were killed as an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in southern Somalia on Monday.

Authorities confirmed the incident and the fatalities in the latest deadly attack against innocent civilians in the East African nation.

Police stated that the incident took place in the Bakool region.

Security agencies in the region indicated that the explosion took place on the afternoon of September 14.

The deceased were traveling in a Tuk-Tuk taxi when the IED went off decapitating them. At the time, all the seven were from a religious function just outside the town.

Authorities confirmed that three other people were injured. Consequently, they have been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

No group has come out to claim responsibility for yet another deadly attack against unarmed civilians going about their daily activities.
