Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) announced that 76 percent of the region’s voters took part in Monday’s historic elections.
According to TPEC, the regional state has 40,000 registered voters.
On October 25, the region’s voters participated in the local government elections, which were historic as the first one-person-one-vote (1P1V) polls in Somalia.
Voters who turned up for the exercise were quite enthusiastic.
TPEC commended the voters for being peaceful during the voting exercise while adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.
