Severe Water Shortage Reported in Las Anod

A severe water shortage has been reported in Las Anod.

WASH Cluster Somalia published a report dated February 20 listing all the areas in Las Anod that are currently experiencing severe shortages of water.

Specifically, the organization added that the shortage is worse in locations hosting internally displaced persons (IDPs).

It added that the situation has increased pressure on scarce resources in the region.

WASH Cluster Somalia mentioned that water points in Las Anod are running dry.

The situation affects close to 239,000 people in Las Anod, which already has 185,000 IDPs. WASH Cluster has instituted several measures to remedy the situation.
