Shaba Water Company Unable to Meet the Needs of Borama

Shaba Water Company, which is responsible for managing water distribution in Borama, is unable to meet the growing demand in the city.

The firm supplies clean piped water to all households in the city.

However, it says that the population of Borama is growing at a fast rate thus making it impossible to keep up with the demand for water.

Consequently, the company has drilled many boreholes in the city to bolster supply.

Eng. Abdirahman Abdisalan Sheikh Ali Jowhar, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm, said they have not stopped “exploring and drilling” more boreholes to meet the incredible demand.

He said this while speaking to Professor Dahir Mohamed Hadi, the Deputy Head of Dawan Media Group who paid him a courtesy call in his office.

Professor Hadi said the company needs assistance from stakeholders and other investors to increase its capacity for supplying the city with enough water.
