Galmudug is in shock after one of the regional state’s recently elected senators resigned.
Senator Yusuf Gelle Ugaas, elected to represent Galmudug in the Upper House (Senate), sent his resignation letter to the regional state’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor.
The resignation letter was dated November 15.
Rumors are rife that Senator Ugaas is interested in vying for a seat in the upcoming elections for House of the People (Lower House) elections.
In his letter, Senator Ugaas appeals to President Qoorqoor to accept his resignation.
He appeals to the Speaker of the Galmudug Regional Parliament as well as Members of Parliament (MPs) to accept his decision too.
