Sixth SNA Infantry Embarks on 6-Month Training

The Sixth Infantry of the Somali National Army (SNA) embarked on a training program expected to last the next six months.

Senior military officials confirmed that the training would take place in Mogadishu.

The venue of the training is the military academy run by the Turkish government in the capital of the East African nation.

On Sunday, October 18, the Somali Turkish Force Command issued a press release stating that the training commenced in mid-September.

The statement from the Command Force mentioned that the officers would be completing their training in early December 2020.

On Thursday, October 14, the 450 recruits of the Sixth Infantry Division took their oaths.

Several senior military officers from Somalia and Turkey attended the oath-taking session.

The recruits are expected to benefit from basic military training, anti-terrorism training, and exercise center command to mention a few.

Several Somali soldiers have received their military training at the TurkSom Military School.
