A delegation from the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) met with President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Lafta-Gareen of the Southwest State on October 16.
During the Friday meeting, the NUSOJ delegation discussed media freedom with President Lafta-Gareen.
Omar Farouk Osman, the Secretary General of NUSOJ, led his colleagues to visit and discuss the state of the country’s media with Lafta-Gareen.
Dr. Ali Faqi, the Speaker of the Southwest State Parliament, attended the talks too.
They talked about the need for defending the freedom of the media in not only the state but also the entire country.
Further, the delegation and the Southwest State leaders discussed the professionalism of journalism in Somalia.
