Somali National Army (SNA) commandos destroyed several hideouts belonging to the Al-Shabaab militia in Hiiraan.
Reports indicate that the Danab Special Forces, a unit of elite commandos within the SNA, carried out an operation in the region on May 19.
The security operation mostly centered around several villages in Hiiraan’s Mataban district.
Sources within military circles indicated to the media that the security operation will continue in the region to hunt down terrorists.
