UN Special Envoy to Somalia Visits President-Elect Mohamud

The United Nations Special Envoy to Somalia visited President-Elect Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Mogadishu.

UN Special Envoy James Swan paid Somalia’s newly-elected President a courtesy visit on Wednesday, May 18.

Swan met with the new President for the first time since winning the presidential elections held on Sunday, May 15.

The UN Special Envoy congratulated Mohamud on his electoral victory.

Mohamud returns to the top office in the land for the second time. He was first elected the President of Somalia from 2012 until 2017.
