Somali National Army (SNA) forces have killed seven Al-Shabaab militants in the Mudug region.
Sources within military circles confirmed the number to the media on Sunday.
According to the sources, SNA personnel carried out a military operation in the Mudug region on April 3.
The specific unit that carried out the operation was the highly trained Danab Special Forces.
During the operation, members of the special unit captured two militants alive.
They also seized several weapons and explosives. The government troops also confiscated a vehicle belonging to the terrorist group.
The operation took place near Wasil, a town in Mudug.
