Reports from Central Somalia indicate that Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers killed 24 militants on October 18.
According to security authorities in the region, the extremists were killed during a bloody gunfight lasting several hours.
Gen. Ahmed Tredishe, the Commander of SNA’s 27 Division, the incident took place near Bulo-Burde, which is in Hiran region.
It is unclear whether the military also suffered casualties during the deadly Sunday incident.
Lately, Somalia has experienced a surge in bloody and deadly conflicts between SNA soldiers and Al-Shabaab militants.
