SNA Secures Hudur–Ceel Garas Corridor in Targeted Anti-Terror Operation

The Somali National Army (SNA) has successfully carried out a targeted security operation along the Hudur–Ceel Garas road, approximately 40 kilometers east of Hudur in the Bakool region. This strategic mission focused on neutralizing threats posed by the Khawaarij, a known extremist faction responsible for destabilizing the area and endangering civilian lives.

The primary objective of the operation was to ensure the safety and freedom of movement for local communities and travelers who rely on this key transport route. Following the mission, officials confirmed the road is now secure for civilian use. The operation also served as a message of reassurance to residents, reinforcing the government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.

SNA commanders have indicated that this is part of a broader campaign aimed at eradicating all remaining terrorist threats in Bakool and beyond. Continued operations are planned to prevent the resurgence of extremist groups and to secure liberated areas.
