The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) announced its readiness to tackle the challenges that the impending El Nino rains present.
Mahamuud Moallim, the SODMA Commissioner, made this announcement on Friday during a media interview.
He added that the organization would prioritize disbursement of food and medical supplies to flood-prone areas around the country.
The El Nino rains are expected to kick off this month. Weather experts believe that the rains would then proceed until next month.
