SoDMA Signs Agreement with Qatar Red Crescent to Help Flood Victims

The Head of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahamuud Moalim, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ahmed Adam Hamid from the Qatar Red Crescent.

This collaboration, signed on Sunday, aims to provide vital support to regions in Somalia impacted by El Niño-induced flooding. The agreement focuses on three key areas.

Aiding Flood Victims

Delivering immediate relief and support to those displaced or severely affected by the floods.

Improving Water Reservoirs

Enhancing water infrastructure to ensure better water management and supply during emergencies.

Healthcare Enhancement

Strengthening healthcare services in affected regions to address the medical needs of vulnerable communities.

This partnership highlights a significant step in addressing the humanitarian and infrastructural challenges posed by recurrent climate shocks in Somalia.
