Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) has expressed concern over the recent arrest of fie local journalists.
SOLJA announced that authorities had arrested five local journalists in Hargeisa.
The journalists have been identified as Naema Abdi, Sagal Mustafe, Hassan Galaydh, Mohamed Abdi Ilig, and Ahmed Mh’ud Yusuf.
According to the organization, authorities arrested the journalists for covering the recent incident at an Hargeisa prison.
SOLJA expressed concern at the recurrent arrest of journalists who are only doing their job.
It called for the immediate release of all the journalists who are behind bars.
