The approval occurred at the cabinet’s weekly meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, where ministers also heard security updates from top police leaders, including the national police chief and Benadir regional commander.
Reports indicated improvements in security across Mogadishu and the nation, with focus on readiness for upcoming Benadir Regional Council elections.
The cabinet commended Somali security forces for gains against Al-Shabaab and persistent efforts to protect citizens and uphold stability.
In another statement, ministers denounced recent acts opposing Somali culture and Islamic teachings, which harmed innocent civilians, and ordered security agencies to hold perpetrators accountable.
