The Council of Cabinet in Somalia has rejected a new list of 12 ambassadorial appointments by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Somali’s cabinet made their intentions known on January 7, 2021.
According to several of the cabinet ministers, the new list has not adhered to the traditional 4.5 system that has been used to make such appointments in the past.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, who chaired this week’s cabinet meeting, assured them that the names on the list would undergo further evaluation.
In recent times, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has come under intense scrutiny and pressure over his latest appointments.
Farmaajo’s critics accuse him of making imbalanced appointments.
