Somali couples aged 25-29 years experience the highest rates of divorce in the country.
The latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics reveal that the rate of divorce among this demographic is 9 percent.
The bureau carried out a study on divorce rates in the East African country in 2022.
In its report, it discovered that 85 percent of Somalis aged 35-44 years opt to remain in their marriages rather than divorce.
Currently, 6.1 percent of the population is widowed.
The rate of people who have never been married is highest in urban areas compared to the rural parts of the country too.
