Somali Embassy in Kenya to Suspend its Services from December 17

Somali Embassy in Kenya announced that it would be suspending all services from Thursday, December 17.

On Wednesday, the Embassy issued a statement showing its plans to suspend provision of all types of services.

The decision comes amid the fallout between Kenya and Somalia.

Earlier this week, Somalia severed all diplomatic relations with Kenya and recalled its diplomatic staff from Nairobi.

Somalia’s decision was partly influenced by the three-day visit of Nairobi by President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland.

Before that, though, Somalia had repeatedly accused Kenya of “interfering in its internal affairs.”

On its part, the Kenyan government has denied such accusations.
