The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has established a National Counterterrorism Center.
The new facility is to be known as Tubsan National Center.
Tubsan means “right path.”
Abdullahi Mohamed Nor, a former federal Minister of Internal Security, is to be in charge of the Tubsan National Center.
Nor will be the Director while Ibrahim Aden Ibrahim Nadara serves as the center’s Deputy Director.
Nadara is a former member of the Al-Shabaab militia group from whom he defected in 2016 before joining Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre’s office as an adviser.
