A filmmaker from Somalia has emerged top in the just concluded Burkina Faso Film Festival.
Khadar Ahmed received recognition for her work in “The Gravedigger’s Wife.”
He wrote and directed the movie.
The 40-year old filmmaker was top at the 27th FESPACO Panafrican Film and Television Festival.
However, he was not at the festival to receive the award in person.
His movie competed against 16 others from different African nations.
Abderrahmane Sissako, a Mauritanian producer, was in charge of the international jury that recognized Ahmed’s amazing work.
