Voters have been urged to observe COVID-19 measures as Puntland prepares for local government elections that kick off on October 25.
The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) issued this notice to voters on Sunday.
In its statement to the public, TPEC asked voters to wear their masks.
It also encouraged voters to keep social distance at all times and avoid crowds.
On Monday, Puntland holds historic municipal elections in Eyl, Ufeyn, and Qardho. TPEC takes charge of these one-person-one-vote polls.
The electoral body urged voters to observe these protocols before, during, and after casting their votes.
