Somali National Army (SNA) troops were dispatched to Bal’ad on Monday to boost security in the region.
Their deployment to the area is designed to protect the town and the surrounding areas from Al-Shabaab militants.
Bal’ad is quite popular with tourists despite the heavy presence of Al-Shabaab militants in the town.
The military will help deter further attacks by the terrorist group.
