The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has arrested around 100 fighters linked to the Jubbaland Regional Forces.
Osman Dubbe, the Minister of Information, confirmed that the fighters were arrested in Baled Hawa on January 25.
The information minister confirmed this when he spoke to journalists on Monday.
He reassured the media that the government has taken full control of the region after two days of intense clashes between the government forces and Jubbaland regional troops.
According to Dubbe, the 100 fighters were linked to Abdirashid Janan, a Somali fugitive who has been hiding in Kenya.
Initially, Jubbaland administration, led by President Ahmed Islam Madobe, claimed that it was in complete control of Baled Hawa.
