On Monday, an assassination attempt was made on the Prime Minister of Sudan. The Federal Government of Somali (FSG) has come out strongly against the attempt.
Ambassador Ahmed Isse Awad, Somali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, said his country would stand by Sudan. He also stated that militia operating in the region must be wiped out.
Ambassador Awad said, “I condemn the assassination attempt on H.E. PM Hamdouk in the strongest possible terms. We must wipe out the evil forces planning violence in the region.”
On his part, PM Hamdouk reassured the people of Sudan of his wellbeing. Furthermore, he says that he is not only safe but also in good physical shape.
PM Hamdouk vowed that the attempt would not derail the country’s transition is making. Instead, it provides the country with an “additional push” to change Sudan for the better.
