The spokesperson of Somalia’s Ministry of Defense, Abukar Mohamed, has strongly condemned the actions of Ethiopian troops in the Gedo region, describing their maneuvers as interference in Somalia’s internal affairs.
He emphasized that Somalia remains firm on not negotiating any part of its territory and considers such actions as a violation of the country’s sovereignty.
Furthermore, Mohamed addressed the recent arrival of Egyptian military planes in Mogadishu, clarifying that their presence is part of a bilateral agreement between Somalia and Egypt.
This deal aims to bolster military cooperation and strengthen defense capabilities, reflecting a growing partnership between the two nations.
The defense ministry has reiterated Somalia’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity while fostering strategic alliances.
