Somali Government Launches Investigations over Diversion of Food Rations for Elite SNA Unit

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has launched investigations into reports that food rations for an elite Somali National Army (SNA) unit were diverted.

On Thursday, reports emerged that unnamed military officers diverted the rations meant for the United States-trained Danab soldiers.

According to the government, it already identified those behind the diversion.

Consequently, it not only suspended but also detained the officers in question.

Henceforth, the government announced that it would take over the task of distributing the rations directly to the Danab troops.
