Somali Legislators Discuss Procedures for Amending Provisional Constitution

Somali legislators held discussions on procedures for amending the country’s provisional constitution.

Legislators from the Senate (Upper House) and House of the People (Lower House) held a bicameral session on this issue on Tuesday.

This their first joint session on this issue.

Members of both houses discussed the recent resolution designed to define procedures for the amendments.

Somalia is currently in the process of drafting a new constitution.

The process has taken quite long. It kicked off in the last administration.
