A Somali minister is in Beirut for the regional review of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD).
Dr. Mohamed Elmi, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, arrived in the Lebanonean capital for the 6th Regional Review of the ICPD.
The conference kicked off on Thursday.
He attends this year’s conference whose theme is “Challenges and Prospects, 10 Years after the Cairo Declaration 2013.”
Participants at the conference are to discuss wide-ranging issues.
These include reproductive health, human rights, and environmental sustainability.
They are also scheduled to discuss commitments passed at the recent climate change conference in Nairobi before producing a report for the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
