Somali Minister Says Culture as a Bridge to Peace at Islamic World–Russia Summit

Kazan, Russia Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Daud Aweis, delivered a compelling keynote address at the Congress of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World and Russia, held in Kazan, Russia.

In his remarks, Aweis emphasized the vital role of culture in today’s globalized world. “In an increasingly interconnected world driven by globalization, culture serves as a crucial bridge—bringing people together, encouraging mutual understanding, and promoting peace across borders,” he stated.

The summit, which brought together cultural ministers and high-level representatives from across the Islamic world and Russia, aimed to foster intercultural dialogue, preserve shared heritage, and strengthen cultural diplomacy.
