Somali Minister Urges African Women Ministers to Stand Together to Fight Climate Change

A Somali federal minister has urged women ministers from other African nations to stand together in tackling the effects of climate change on the continent.

Khadija Al-Makhzoumi, the Somali Minister of Environment and Climate Change, made this call on Sunday, November 13.

She spoke during a meeting with her colleagues from Egypt, Mauritania, and Kenya.

Al-Makhzoumi spoke after holding discussions with Yasmine Fouad, Layla Kamara, and Soipan Tuya.

Fouad is the Egyptian Minister of Environment.

Kamara is the Mauritanian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Tuya is the Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Secretary.

Al-Makhzoumi urged her colleagues around the continent to work together to tackle climate change more effectively.
