Somali National TV has announced that it would be broadcasting the End Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) on January 18, 2021.
On Sunday, the TV station announced that it would be broadcasting the program on Monday.
Viewers have been advised to tune their stations to watch the program that kicks off at 13.30 hours (Somali Time).
Furthermore, those who prefer radios have been encouraged to tune in to Somali National Radio (Radio Mogadishu) at 14.00 hours (Somali Time).
FGM is a huge problem in Somalia.
Several human rights organizations and activists in the country have constantly agitated against it. Political leaders have also made efforts to have the practice banned in the country.
