The Somali Partnership Forum (SPF) has kicked off in Mogadishu. SPF kicked off on Monday, December 7.
Several senior Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) leaders and officers attended today’s session.
They were joined by representatives of Somalia’s international partners.
In his opening address, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble announced planned visits to Garowe, Galkayo, and Dhusamareb.
He said that he would follow these tours with a meeting with the leaders of Federal Member States (FMS) in Mogadishu to discuss plans for the upcoming elections.
Somalia is due to hold parliamentary elections in December 2020. The exact date for the polls is yet to be set, though.
Presidential elections have been penciled for February 8, 2021.
