Somali Police Force (SPF) officers arrested a journalist working for Kalsan TV.
The police officers arrested Abdihafid Nur Mohamud who was covering a public protest that took place in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Members of the public were on the streets demonstrating over a number of issues in Kahda district.
Officials from the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) condemned the arrest.
NUSOJ released a statement demanding for the immediate release of the Kalsan TV journalist from police custody.
It is not clear why the police arrested Mohamud.
