Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, the Commander-in-Chief of Somali Police Force (SPF) conducted an inspection tour of a police station and several security checkpoints in Galmudug.
Senior SPF commanders accompanied Hijar during his inspection tour.
Hijar also spent time with police officers at the checkpoints as he listened to their complaints and concerns.
Sources said that the police chief conducted the inspection tour to “monitor the quality of services his officers provide.”
The tour is also part of his ongoing efforts to check the level of preparedness of his officers to provide security in different parts of the country as elections draw near.
Galkayo has been earmarked as one of the venues for the upcoming elections.
