General Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijaar, the Chief of Somali Police Force (SPF), met with the head of the Interpol in France.
Gen. Hijaar’s meeting with Jurgen Stock, the Interpol head, took place in Lyon on November 15.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed ways of helping Somalia to combat the growing threat of terrorism.
Al-Shabaab has a strong presence in Somalia.
Other militia groups also thrive in Somalia, thus making the security situation worse.
Apart from that, Gen. Hijaar and Stock spoke about the need for dismantling organized crime networks responsible for drug smuggling and human trafficking in Somalia.
