General Abdi Hassan Hijar, Somalia’s police chief, has sacked the Mogadishu police boss over last weekend’s terror attack at Elite Hotel.
The police chief said the area police boss failed to protect people under his jurisdiction on Sunday when the attack took place.
Furthermore, he also ordered for the arrest of several Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers.
According to Gen. Hijar, the soldiers are culpable for facilitating the passing through of a car carrying a bomb that the extremists used to attack Elite Hotel.
He wondered how the extremists were able to pass through the multiple checkpoints in the area and detonate the car bomb in the area afterward.
The chief of police also announced that full investigations are on to discover how the attack was carried out.
